Burnage Come Close to Causing Shock

Burnage Metro came within two minutes of holding Unibond League outfit Curzon Ashton, on Tuesday night, in the Charter Standard Cup.

Despite it being a mixed Club Team, made of players from all five of their teams, they totally dominated the first half.  They hit the post when lone striker Chris McGreevy first saw his lob hit the post and had what appeared to be an effort controversially ruled out for offside, despite the through ball being made by a Curzon player.  (A big Club decision!!)

The second period was dominated by Curzon and they gained their equaliser midway through.  Missed chances and enforced substitutions paid the toll on Metro and with two minutes remaining, the favourites grabbed their late winner and a place in the semis.

The squad:-
