Small Shows Quality

A determined
Team performance by the Fifths, that brought an end to Old Stretfordians 5th
Team's unbeaten start to the season.
A sublime 35
yard left footer from Colin Small got them off to another flying start, with
another first minute strike.
And, if both
he and striking partner, Mario Mazur, had been more ruthless either side of the
break, there would be no need for such an tense end.
Strets deservedly got back on level terms, midway through the second period,
with a speculative effort, after the had hit the woodwork twice. But, winger
Mark Tracey, hit straight back with a classy finish.
Strets came close late on, but keeper Russell Hoyte, produce a fine save, as
the Team completed back to back wins.
The First
entertained Hindsford which produced an excellent win for the home side with
Mike Eastham getting both goals in a 2-1 win, as their recent run of good
results continued.
The Third
Team were again in a high scoring encounter and they managed to grab a point
against Chorltonians. Loz McHugh and a
late arriving brace from Trevor Kelly earning a point for the home Team.
The Fourth
went under the hammer 5-1 away at table topping Hooley Bridge with only Tom
Woollam getting on the score sheet for Burnage.
The Seconds
also went down, 2-4 away at Newton and remain a drift a the bottom of Division
A.
